Sneak Peek: DIY Drawstring (Dog Treat) Bag Guest Post

Hello Monday (and happy long holiday weekend to those of you celebrating the Fourth of July today!).  In lieu of our usual Monday DIY, we have a sneak peek for you today of the DIY guest collaboration we'll be sharing via Dalmatian DIY this coming Friday in their weekly DIY slot: reuseable drawstring training treat bagsUpdate: It's live!  Head to Dalmatian DIY for the instructions for making your own pawesome treat bags.

This month, our DIY posts are all about trying to curb our waste through swapping customised reuseable bags into our routine in lieu of plastic.  We've been working hard as a family to reduce our waste and have made a lot of progress; however, plastic bags still creep into our routine.  Shopping, especially groceries, is my most frequent offense and I will be sharing posts about our new grocery bags and produce bags later this month.  I have gotten into the habit of using glass jars for treats at home (so handy!), but for outings treats are usually bagged and bags are also easy for sharing treats with friends. Our collaboration with Dalmatian DIY creates several easy variations of drawstring bags made with sturdy fabric and strong seaming to hold up under daily wear and tear as well as regular washing.

Although these little cuties are sized and styled for treats, drawstring bags are an easy DIY and can be scaled to suit a wide variety of uses: gift wrap, storage, travel, and more.  They are a handy way to make something useful from your fabric remnants, and you can make them as plain or as fancy as you please.  Head to Dalmatian DIY for the details.
