Move over Fairy Bread, there's a new sprinkle treat in town! These sprinkle coated chocolate truffles are so easy to make and are perfect for party treats, favours, or little pressies. They have all the rainbow fun and candy covered crunch of fairy bread, but in a slightly more refined and portable easy-to-handle bite-sized ball of chocolately goodness.
To make your own, prepare your chocolate truffle mix (full recipe here). Chill in the refrigerator until firm.
Remove and shape spoonfuls into small balls by hand (this is a
bit messy as they melt a little on your hands while you roll) and place
on a plate/tray. If you are preparing your truffles in advance, you can refrigerate or freeze them uncoated, if you wish. The balls coat best when either freshly rolled or rerolled to ensure the outer layer of the chocolate truffle mix is warmed a little for stickiness. Roll each ball in your rainbow sprinkled coating. Store (if applicable) cool, but they are tastiest if allowed to warm to room temperature before eating. These are
firm and solid little truffle treats, and stand-up well to being wrapped, boxed,
or bagged for gifting.
