Six for Saturday or Sunday: Upcycled/Recycled Winter Warmers

Baby it's cold outside!  I know, many readers are midway through summer and winter woolies are far from mind; however, it's never too early to get a head start!  It is wet, cold, and wintery here and this week's creative inspiration is a collection of upcycled and recycled crafts to keep you cosy. Clockwise from upper left:

P.S. No knitting is required for these winter woolies, but if you are a keen knitter, you might enjoy the lovely blog of our friend Sarah at Say! Little Hen.  Her photos are always gorgeous, serving up country life with a side of baked goodies and gorgeous knits. Tonya of The Crafty Mummy has been posting some tempting photos recently of her crochet projects and I love the colour scheme that she's pickled for her new ripple blanket

For now, I'm busy sewing grocery bags while relying on my winter wool slippers from Canada (thanks, Mom!) and plenty of coffee / lemon ginger and honey to keep me warm.  I also made not one but two cosy recycled t-shirt quilts...for the dogs!  They were made with hubby's old t-shirts and I will be sharing the details via Dalmatian DIY in late August for in the lead up to our Father's Day.  Don't worry, Tiger wasn't left out. He received a snuggly little t-shirt cat cushion for his favourite nesting basket.  Our animals have it made - literally!  In addition to the blankets, bed, and scrap rags, I have plenty of t-shirt yarn made from the trimmings.  Suggestions welcome for t-shirt yarn crafts to try!
